Sep 20, 2017 · Hello! I just got a vintage Doxa watch and opened it up for service when i realized the movement was marked Optima. It has the same 17 jewels as marked on the dial but has a big engraved name of Optima. Does this mean its a franken? Did Optima make OEM for Doxa!? Thanks !
1954 to be exact. The first two numbers tell you that. It was and still is a good watch, although at least the crystal should be replaced. It's a cheap fix because it's plastic. A nice feature of many vintage Doxas was that they were slightly larger (36mm) than other watches of the time.

At 42mm it's big enough for people who like larger watches, but the way it wears that is clever, even on a small wrist and with a normally configured nato the watch still feels unobtrusive.

Nov 26, 2022 · I‘m not certain quality control is crazy different between the two brands. Seiko makes multiple times more watches than Doxa, but Seiko does adhere to ISO standards (9001, etc.) which does provide some assurance of quality. Seiko also has a good warranty and global customer support.

I have seriously considered an Army and 600. Why? Doxa watches are everyday reasonably priced watches on which I can rely. I can buy bling and constant updates of little extra value
